My first post

3 weeks

We have made it 3 weeks in school and what a success it has been. He loves it! He would go on Saturday if we would let him. He is very happy with his teacher, making friends, and learning a ton. How quickly life has changed. Sister is enjoying having mommy to herself but some days she is greatly her missing brother.

Student of the week

Garrett got the Student of the Week award at school this week. We are so proud! What a great start to the year. This is what Mr. Shew his teacher said about him.

This student has been a joy to have in the few short weeks. He has been following directions, being respectful to others and enjoying his time at school. I also want to thank him for pointing out that we had a wasp nest on our back porch!! He saved the day!! I am excited to see Garrett grow as a student, he will have a fantastic year. Congratulations.

He also got to bring home the class pet since he was student of the week. I think he was more excited about then anything.

Is the fall coming?

Happy to have the summer coming to an end and super excited about the fall getting closer. We love it here in Wichita but the one thing I miss is the cooler months. I have to say I kind of miss the Iowa winter. I know that sounds crazy but it is the truth. Now that school has started I am ready to break out the long sleeved and THIN jackets. I am not asking for 10 degrees and snow just some 40's at night and 60 during the day. Is that to much to ask for?

OKC Memorial

We went to the Oklahoma City Memorial when we were on vacation and I thought I'd share a couple of pictures from there. It was an amazing place to see. It was so much more than I ever imagined it would be.

The east wall says 9:01. Then there is this beautiful water. Then on the west wall it say 9:03.


They did an amazing design on this place. It was such a beautiful place. We also went at night and it was gorgeous! I was amazed how interested brother was in all of this. Sister was very good while we were there also.

First day of school

The first day of school was a big success! He seemed a little nervous this morning but went in on his own and was happy about it. He was excited to see me when I picked him up and said it was a lot of fun. He wants to know if he can go there every year :) I wished I could have recorded him saying that. I am sure in a couple of years he will not feel that way.

Sister missed her brother VERY much. She cried and wined about it till I finally decided I need to get her out of the house. We went to shop at the mall. Good way to distract yourself. All and all it was a good day. I hope tomorrow is just as good as we get use to this new schedule.

I did take pictures. I am just behind on loading them. Maybe tomorrow?!?!?
